Endowed with rich tradition of engineering education almost for a decade, CVRCE has of late added chemical Engineering on its cap. The chemical Engineers have a clear task of consolidating the gains of technologies to harness nature, to produce chemicals, using biotechnology route, to focus on energy conservation measures besides the age old traditional areas of production of soaps and detergents, textiles, leather, pharmaceuticals etc. They have to contribute a lot for the development of green technology and second green evolution in agriculture for a better tomorrow.The department is in the process of setting up various laboratories like mechanical operations, mass transfer, reaction engineering, process control and computer-aided design.

The department has in its agenda to focus R & D in the following areas
· Environmental Biotechnology
· Separation science & Engineering
· Mineral processing.
