Mechanical Engg

This is one of the oldest and finest departments of this institution. Its highly qualified and experienced faculty and staff work with dedication and motivation. The department keeps in mind the ever changing challenges of modern day industry and its commitment to produce knowledgeable and responsible mechanical engineers fully aware of the tasks ahead.This department aims at providing basic knowledge in mechanical engineering along with in-depth knowledge in the design of mechanical components and machines, production engineering, techniques of management, computer programming, numerical analysis and CAD/CAM. Design of projects are undertaken as a compulsory requirement.The students undergo a 4 week industrial training to translate classroom knowledge to actual work situations. As a culmination of the course, students undertake an in-depth study project requiring the integration of all fundamental concepts.The modern workshop and laboratory, each covering about 5000 sqft of floor area, have sufficient numbers of lathes, milling machines, shaper, drill, grinder and the welding, carpentry and fitting facilities to take care of the need of the curriculum.
